It's hard to believe we're already well into summer, and it's been a busy and exciting few months both at home and abroad!
From entertaining guests at weddings and corporate events across the UK to stepping onto theatre stages onboard cruise ships, it's certainly been a summer to remember.
One of the things I love most about being a professional magician is the variety. No two weeks are ever the same, and every audience brings its own energy and unforgettable moments.
Performing Theatre Shows on Cruise Ships
One of the highlights of the summer so far has been returning to sea to perform my full theatre shows onboard cruise ships around Europe!
It's always an incredible experience stepping onto a huge theatre stage and entertaining audiences of hundreds of guests from around the world. Performing in such beautiful venues and seeing entire theatres filled with laughter, amazement and applause is something I'll never take for granted.
While my close-up performances are all about intimate moments and impossible magic happening right in front of people, my theatre shows allow me to share that same sense of wonder on a much larger scale. It's been a privilege to spend part of the summer performing at sea and bringing magic to so many people - and meeting the incredible crew that work onboard these enormous ships!
Bringing Magic to Weddings
Wedding season has also been in full swing, and I've had the pleasure of performing at some wonderful venues and celebrations.
As a wedding magician, I love helping to create those memorable moments during drinks receptions, photographs and the meals. There's something special about watching complete strangers become friends over a shared experience and hearing guests talk about the magic long after the day itself.
Close-up magic has a unique way of bringing people together, and it's always a privilege to be trusted with such an important occasion.
This summer i’ve entertained at weddings at Carlowrie Castle, Venechar Lochside, Borthwick Castle, The Biscuit Factory, and many more venues!
Corporate Events and Summer Parties
Summer also means company celebrations, client entertainment and corporate events, and it's been fantastic to be part of so many memorable occasions.
As a corporate magician, I enjoy creating those moments that spark conversations and leave guests with stories they'll be telling long after the event. Whether it's entertaining during a drinks reception, hosting an awards evening or a summer party, magic is a great way to break the ice and create a fun, relaxed atmosphere.
Seeing colleagues and clients laugh, gasp and try to work out the impossible is one of the best parts of the job.
Looking Ahead
With summer flying by, there are still plenty of exciting events to come.
My diary is filling up quickly, but I do have a handful of dates remaining in July for weddings, corporate events and private celebrations (before the Edinburgh Fringe kicks off in full in August!)
